Carrie, They got you good. I feel for you, when did you make your purchase? I just received a letter from the BBB yesterday stating that they are out of business. They also said that if anyone knows anything thing about them to notify the BBB. I'm sure they are operating under a new name I will try to find out and will post it here if I do. Call the police, contact the BBB and the dept of consumer affairs, also contact Enable Holdings @ 1 866 946 8243
Ask to speak to a supervisor (Amanda is one) tell her your problem. Global buys truck loads of stuff from this company keep hammering them it can only hurt them more. Enable reimbursed me for my problems that I had with Global may be they will help you also.

Why... OH Why does everyone think cheaper is better.

It's because of the reasons stated in the above comments that I only shop retail....
From reputable dealers and retailers.

Who in their right mind would purchase a high end TV
or computer from a " close out" sale.

Like the old saying says:

If it sounds too good to be true......

It probably is !

Come on guys.... a $600.00 New HD LCD TV for $300.00

You lost some money....
let that be a HARD lesson learned.

I do however agree that places like this should be stopped.

I have been having a problem with my warrenty as well. I was stupid enought to buy two appliences from them. I am currently having a problem and the refrigerator. they reported my refrigerator as new with a manufacturer warrenty for the first year. This is not true it is labled refirbished with a 90 day warrenty through gcr warrenty group. the 3 year warrenty I purchased is through Banker warrenty group. My warrenty is active but not in effect till nov 2010. Check with them on to see if your warrenty is active, their # is 1-800-206-7848. Global is currently in Port Charlotte phone # 1-941-391-6655 the number sounds like it is attached to a fax hang up and call again and you will either get a person or voicemail. Keep bugging them, wee need to stick together. If your not satisfied call the better Business bureau to file a report. If we can't get our items repaired maybe be can put them out of business

While the old De Sears store in Sarasota was being used by Global Closeouts I bought an Acer Aspire computer and the Bankers 2-year warranty. When the computer malfunctioned repeatedly I called Bankers and was told my warranty didn't take effect until one year after purchase. Acer recognized the unit but said it was out of warranty. When I called Bob at Global Closeouts with the problem he seemed like a descent guy and promised me a full refund. Then the group disappeared. The phones go unanswered. My anger is building and my corporate experience tells me to chase these guys down. This just isn't fair, and I bet there are many more unhappy customers out there.

A couple of comments...Enable Holdings is not an upstanding company and are on the verge of bankruptcy. The folks associated with Global Closeouts handled a Red Tag Live (a division of Enable Holdings)sale in Clearwater and in Ft. Lauderdale last year. Some vendors for these sales have never been paid. Similarly, as you can see from the above comments, some vendors have not been paid by Global Closeouts. The principals for Global Closeouts include Julian (Jim) Potts and his son Jason Potts. Do a search of the Sarasota County Clerk's office court and official records - I am sure you will find it interesting. While you're at it, check out Enable Holdings on the internet...you'll see that not only are there problems paying vendors with Red Tag Live, there's problems with Ubid.com (another Enable Holdings division) as well...

Good luck on getting paid!
